Humphrey Chemical Co. produced organic chemicals for distribution worldwide. The product line included some hundred compounds used to make rust inhibitors, epoxy hardeners, modified food starch, synthetic paper sizing, detergents, photographic chemicals, silver polish and gasoline additives.

The western office building, built c.1960, is one story brick with flat roof and full height window openings. The manufacturing facility, also built c.1960, consists of two attached gable roof metal buildings, approx. 260 ft by 60 ft in overall footprint, running parallel to the street. At the southwestern corner is a smaller gable roof metal building, approx. 25 ft by 30 ft. A metal shed roof addition runs the entire width of the western end.
Deteriorated
Building is vacant, and is under consideration in 2016 for demolition for North Haven Train station.
