Brief Description

Either associated with or potentially associated with the A.N. Pierson, Inc. Nursery (#4138). Consists of single- and multi-family wood-frame houses located along New Lane, Stevens Lane, Brooks Lane, West Street, and Olsen Avenue. Of particular note are three tenant houses built on Stevens Lane by John Stevens, one of the founders of the J. and E. Stevens Co. (#2885), in 1875, that were in turn acquired by Andrew N. Pierson in 1893. These are located within Cromwell's Main Street National Register Historic District (#1469), however, the resources on New Lane, Brooks Lane, West Street, and Olsen Avenue are not. The Andrew N. Pierson homestead is located nearby at 423 Main Street.
