Included in the district are 15 single- and multi-family residences located in the vicinity of the Armstrong Mfg. Co. mill (#3826) that were built by one of the company’s two founders, Frank Armstrong. They include a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame Italianate style rowhouse built at 64-72 Maple Street ca. 1870, twelve identical two-and-a-half-story wood-frame Queen Anne style single-family houses built along Armstrong Place ca. 1885, a two-and-a-half-story red brick Queen Anne style rowhouse built at 237-259 William Street in 1896, and the two-and-a-half-story red brick Second Empire style residence built as the personal residence of Frank Armstrong at 272 William Street ca. 1870.
