For description see National Register application: http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NRHP/Text/80004061.pdf. Associated with the Hazard Powder Co. Within the district are four multi-family wood-frame residences located in the vicinity of Hazard Avenue’s (CT Route 190) intersection with Cooper Road, and a large single-family wood-frame house northeast of Hazard Avenue’s intersection with School Street, all of which formerly owned by the company. The former include the two-story Greek Revival house situated on the south side of Hazard Avenue, at the southeast corner of its intersection with Copper Road; and three one-and-a-half- or two-story duplexes located along Cooper Road, just south of Hazard Avenue. The latter was the residence of the company’s superintendant and is an Italianate-style house built ca. 1865. All five houses are identified as the property of the Hazard Powder Co. on an 1869 map of Hartford County. Several other tenements belonging to the company are identified on the map, however, these have been demolished.
