Four.
Mid 19th c.
Consists of four single- and multi-family wood-frame residential buildings listed as the property of A.B. Taylor, proprietor of the Mystic Woolen Co. mill (#2690), on an 1868 map of the area. The buildings are also identified as the property of the Mystic Woolen Co. on Sanborn maps from 1911, 1924, and 1939. Three of the residences (6, 8, and 16 Main Street) are one-story Cape Cod Cottage-style houses set well back from Main Street, while the fourth (18 Main Street) is a two-and-a-half-style residence with a Mansard roof. The latter appears to have a side-gabled roof in aerial photographs taken in 1934 and 1965 so this must have been altered during the late 20th c. Another residence once stood immediately to the east of the Mansard-roofed building, however, this was demolished during the late 19th c.
