The Park Apartments were built as worker housing during the First World War by the Bridgeport Housing Company. The project was the first example of wartime industrial housing erected in the city and it was developed before the Bridgeport Housing Company partnered with the United States Housing Corporation on several large-scale residential projects that were completed over the course of the war. The building is a freestanding four-story red brick Colonial Revival apartment block designed by local architect Herbert Lewis.
