Brief Description

Consists of twelve residential buildings situated in a closely spaced row along the east side of North Main Street a short distance north of Williams Street that are identified as belonging to the Plume and Atwood Co. (#94) on an 1874 map of the area. All of the residences consist of one-and-a-half-story single-family wood-frame vernacular structures oriented with the gable-ends of their pitched roofs facing the street and they include 164 through 270 North Main Street. The company once owned additional housing on the east side of the Naugatuck River to the north of the mill, however, these were demolished during the construction of CT Route 8.
