Twenty-three.
Mid 19th through early 20th c.
Consists of 23 residential buildings associated with the Sayles Bros. Woolen Mill (#3989). The majority of the houses are one-and-a-half-story wood-frame vernacular duplexes with side-gabled roofs, however, several large multi-family residences or boarding houses are also present. Notable among the latter are the two-and-a-half-story wood-frame apartment building at 34 Old Route 12 that was once part of a much larger structure, and the two identical one-and-a-half-story wood-frame multi-family residences at 88 and 92 Riverside Drive. Many of the houses are identified on an 1869 map of the area, while others were built during the late 19th or early 20th c.
