At least five.
Mid 19th c.
Consists of five residential buildings situated in a closely spaced row along the north side of Meadow Street a short distance north of the Seth Thomas Co.’s South Main Street mill (#3471) that are identified as belonging to the company on an 1874 map of the area. All of the residences consist of one-and-a-half-story single-family wood-frame vernacular structures oriented with the gable-ends of their pitched roofs facing the street and they include 38 through 66 Meadow Street. The company once owned additional housing on the east side of the Naugatuck River along the west side of Chapel Street, however, this was demolished during the construction of CT Route 8. A row of three houses on Williams Street (34, 46, and 60 Williams Street) are identified as the personal property of Seth Thomas on the 1874 map and was likely also rented to his employees.
