Historic Narrative

A. H. Emery Company was founded in 1868 by Albert Hamilton Emery. A scientist and engineer, he initially designed machines to test iron and steel for use in cannons under a federal contract. The company later made scales, merging in 1974 with the Winslow Government Standard Scale out of Indiana to become the Emery Winslow Scale Co.
