Charles, Edward and Henry Hanson bought the property in 1905, built the building, and began the manufacture of screws and nuts. The building was enlarged in 1915. Cedar Hill Formulea, manufacturer of polish for silver and furniture took over in 1925, followed by CT Homeward Step Co., a maker of concrete block.
