Historic Narrative

A former fur storage building, it is the only surviving structure from the Frank H. Lee Co. complex, where fur hats, straw hats and felt hats were made. The company was established in 1885, and c.1919, created a Machinery Division by acquiring the Walters planer company/patents out of Bridgeport. The firm operated until 1960; the majority of the complex was lost to fire c.1968. Now occupied by an urban winery.
