Alfred Fuller moved his brush-making business from Somerville, MA, to Hartford around 1910. The most singular characteristic of Fuller Brush Co. was its factory-to-consumer marketing system, with all salesmen and distributors working directly for the firm. Fuller Brush built this plant in 1922 to house the majority of its manufacturing operations. (Roth) see: http://connecticuthistory.org/hartfords-fuller-brush-company-goes-door-to-door-across-us/
